National Science Education Standards
The NRC published the National Science Education Standards (NSES) as a standard for developing an understanding of science in young people. Goals were identified for a wide range of activities necessary for teaching students about the natural sciences, ranging from teaching standards to assessment standards. A key aspect of the standards is the NSES Content Standards. The Content Standards delineate what students should learn and know about the natural sciences during their K-12 education.
